AMR, pilots agree on language for new labor proposal
(Reuters) – Bankrupt AMR Corp and its pilots’ union have agreed on language for a new labor deal to be voted on by union members, the union announced on Friday. AMR, parent of American Airlines, has been in talks with its pilots as it tries to reduce labor costs and emerge from bankruptcy. The union’s board on Friday presented a “counter-proposal” to offers from AMR management, which the company accepted, according to the statement. But the contract still has to be ratified by union members, who rejected a previous labor proposal in August. …

Citigroup to pay former executives more than $15 million each

Algerian military plane crashes in France, four dead
TOULOUSE, France (Reuters) – An Algerian military transport plane flying home from Paris crashed in southeast France on Friday, killing four of the six people aboard, police and fire brigade sources said. They said the other two people were missing after the plane crashed in a mountainous, uninhabited area near the city of Avignon. About 70 firefighters put out a blaze at the scene of the crash and found the remains of the four dead. France’s civil aviation authority said no information was available yet on the reasons for the crash. …
