Central banks not the only crisis managers - ECB'S Weidmann
President of German Bundesbank Weidmann speaks on the podium during the Frankfurt Euro Finance Week in Frankfurt(Reuters) – It is "wrong and dangerous" to see central banks as the only able crisis manager, European Central Bank policymaker Jens Weidmann said in an interv iew with a Finnish newspaper. "Central banks in recent years have been pulled into the role of a crisis manager. Some think that central banks are the only able ones. Explosive device at shopping mall near Athens injures two
ATHENS (Reuters) – An explosive device went off on Sunday at a shopping centre near Athens causing damage and lightly injuring two security employees, police said. “The device was placed in a garbage bin near a branch of National Bank. There were two warning calls to a newspaper about half an hour before the explosion but police thought it was a hoax,” a police official who declined to be named told Reuters.
